

Towards The Endless Drift XIIt was this yoyoing factor that led to the distortion in the relationship. If there had been a consistent sense of desolation, a continual poverty, then Phillip would have just learnt to live with the pressues, with the pain. But because this was juxtaposed with a sense of intense happiness, of joy and elation, there was no way to develop a way to cope with the inevitable drop down in circumstances, and then the rise that came afterwards. Instead, there was just constant whirring underneath his emotional feet, an inability to keep his legs on any sort of stable ground for any period of time. This was probably more damaging than any actual paiTowards The Endless Drift XI
